I walked into Hugaholics Anonymous and sat down at a chair. Everyone turned to look at me so I said,
"Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm a Hugaholic, for years I have been battling with my addiction. When people come over to me,
I try to just touch their shoulder and nodd, but it's useless, I end up wrapping my arms and around them and resting my chin
on their shoulder. I know we all have this same problem and I look forward to hearing your stories and helping each other."
I finished my introduction and was surprised to see so many blank stares. I looked at the woman I
figured was the instructor of the group, she gave me a funny look and said, "Welcome to Alcoholics Anonymous, I'm not sure
about your hug addiction, but we only deal with alchol in this facility."
I went beat red and quickly got up and left.
After that incident I decided that being addicted hugs wasn't bad and that it was an addiction I was
proud to have. So treatment really would just be a waste of time.
So that is my experience with Hugaholics Anonymous. If you have a story that you would like
to share with me about a similar incident, please post it in my forum! ♥
